Hirofumi Shibata, MD/PhD
I joined the Uppaluri lab in July 2019 as a research fellow. I finished my Ph.D. work related to cancer epigenetics using iPS technology in Gifu and Kyoto University in Japan. I’m also a Head and Neck surgeon in Japan and interested in next-generation personal therapy of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC). My project focuses on HNSCC neoantigen biology using syngeneic mouse cancer models. I’m strongly interested in the cancer immunology field, and in the future, I want to elucidate the mechanisms in neoantigen vaccination and use it in clinical settings. I like swimming with my son and eating delicious food!
Hiro is now back at Gifu as Faculty- https://www.med.gifu-u.ac.jp/otolaryngology/staff/shibata.html
